About the business

Dedeygere Frans en Zoon is a family-run carrier based in Pittem, Belgium, operated by two brothers. The business specialises in the transport of molasses and ingredients for animal feed, primarily supplying the animal feed industry. With a fleet of 30 trucks, they operate across Belgium and into neighbouring countries – France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

It’s a hands-on operation, and Claudia is at the heart of it. She handles administration, manages customer queries, and has been instrumental in shaping how the business adopts new technology.

How they found Qargo

Dedeygere Frans en Zoon weren’t actively shopping for a new TMS when Qargo came along. They were running on a custom-built database – a system that had served them for years but was beginning to show its limits.

When Qargo reached out directly, Claudia could see the potential straight away. The appeal was simple: one platform that could handle the full transport workflow, end to end. “Each step clearly follows one after another,” she explains. “We only need one program for our workflow.” The decision didn’t take long. “We were happy that Qargo came into our lives.”

The challenge

Before Qargo, Dedeygere Frans en Zoon relied on a legacy database to manage their operations. While it had been built to fit their needs at the time, it hadn’t kept pace with the business. The system was unpredictable – and getting data out of it was a manual effort.

“If I needed price lists for my clients, I had to put them all in Excel manually,” Claudia recalls. “It was sometimes difficult to export things.”

Planning was managed entirely on pen and paper. Invoicing was slow. And with a growing cross-border operation spanning multiple countries, the cracks were starting to show.

The solution

Since going fully live on Qargo in June 2025, Dedeygere Frans en Zoon has brought its transport workflow – from order creation through to invoicing – into a single platform. For a team managing 30 trucks across five countries, that consolidation has made a real difference.

One of the standout changes has been AI-assisted order entry. When delivery documents are scanned into Qargo, the system reads key details – weight, date, driver – and auto-populates the order fields.

The team also uses Qargo for CMR registration and resource tracking, giving full visibility into which driver handled which job. And price list exports that once meant a manual rebuild in Excel? Now takes a matter of seconds.

Integrations

Dedeygere Frans en Zoon has connected Qargo to two key systems. Their accounting software, Falko, is integrated directly with Qargo so financial data flows through without manual duplication. They’ve also connected Peppol – Belgium’s mandatory e-invoicing standard.

“Now I have the Peppol integration and it’s a lot easier. Everything comes directly into my accounting software.”

The onboarding experience

The switch to Qargo was well-supported from the start. The Qargo onboarding team came on-site across three days in June 2025, beginning with a sandbox environment so the team could test real workflows before going live.

The ongoing support through Qargo’s live chat has continued to be a reassurance since go-live. “If I have a question and I message on the chat, I get the answer I need quickly.”

The results

25% faster order entry – AI document scanning reads weight, date and driver details automatically, cutting job creation time significantly

30% faster invoicing – streamlined workflows and direct accounting integration have meaningfully reduced billing time

Peppol e-invoicing automated – a major source of manual duplication removed entirely through integration

Cleaner data exports – price lists and reports now export directly from Qargo, replacing the manual Excel workaround

One platform for the full workflow – orders, CMRs, driver records, and invoicing all in one place

Why it matters

For smaller, family-run carriers managing operations across multiple countries, administrative overhead is often the biggest drag on the business. Dedeygere Frans en Zoon’s story reflects a challenge many operators face: legacy systems built for a different era, creating friction at every step of the workflow.

Moving to a single, connected platform hasn’t just saved time – it’s helped the team work more efficiently.

What’s next?

The next big step for Dedeygere Frans en Zoon is bringing planning into Qargo. Currently still managed on pen and paper, getting planning onto the platform will unlock the next phase of their digital journey – including digital CMRs.

“If you don’t already work with a software system like Qargo, I think it’s a really easy way to get started,” says Claudia. “The people who work at Qargo are really friendly – you can ask anything, and they’re happy to help. I couldn’t imagine not having Qargo now.”
